Paul Hamler demonstrated this technique when I visited his workshop. That Paul found a better way is not unexpected. This is a variation of the common tracing paper and soft lead pencil tracing method. However, uses thermal paper and a burnisher. Thermal paper is obtained from any office supply outlet. It is the paper used in thermal copiers and fax machines. Experiment with different burnishers. I find it more sensitive and clearer than using paper and a lead pencil. It is non-destructive, quick, non-messy and immediately storable if desired.
