Mid-West Tool Collectors Association

The Mid-West Tool Collectors Association is a non-profit international organization whose purpose is the study, preservation and understanding of the early tools, implements and devices used by our ancestors in their homes, shops, on the farms and on the seas. The knowledge we gather is used to also develop a greater perception of the industries and crafts in which these tools were used as well as the craftsmen who used them. M-WTCA was started by 16 Chicago area tool collectors in 1968, and since those early beginnings interest in tool collecting has expanded rapidly.  Our membership of approximately 4,000 individuals is located in all 50 states of the United States, and includes Canada, Europe and many other countries around the globe.
